Smiljan

Smljan is a little town in the Croatian part called Lika. It is situated near Korenica and Plitvice lakes so we decided to visit it. Smiljan is not big or rich town, but in this small, modest, simple place one of the greatest minds of mankind Nikola Tesla was born. In 2006 on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his birth,
around the house where he was born and lived with his family, Memorial Centre "Nikola Tesla" was opened.
He had three sisters, mother and father, who was a priest in the Orthodox Church, which is situated near the house.

It would be funny if I say anything about Nikola Tesla, what do I know, what can I say, except that I was impressed because I was in the same room in which the great mind come to this world.
Every day we used a lot of things that we take for granted and they are creations of his mind. We have to thank him every day that he was, is and will continue to be a part of our lives.
