If you ever come to Dubrovnik I recommend to take at least one cable car ride to the hill Srđ above Dubrovnik. The ride takes several minutes and during the whole trip a magnificent view of the whole city is offered. The more you move away the view is more beautiful, and at the end it looks like the whole city is at a palm of your hand. The price per ticket is 10 EUR.
When you are on the hill you should visit the Imperial fortress, built by Napoleon's army after they conquered the Republic of Dubrovnik. The irony is that it was built by a conquering army, and during the attack of the Serbian army, the same fortress was significant in the defense of the city. Now there is a museum of the war veterans, which is still in a bad shape, but the restoration works are in progress.
There is also a small cafe where you can freshen up and once again enjoy, as I say, in the most beautiful view in the world.
A true wanderlust, the place is very awesome. I was already fascinated with the site just even on the photos, how much more when I'll see it for real. I think the cable car ride will be exciting too! Oh, wait... Is there any available rental car services around the area?
