It's neither the best nor the most luxurious hotel where I was, even my room seemed more modest than three stars, but the position is more than excellent. The truth is that everything is neat and clean. The staff is quite correct with the small exception of a lady who works on seating arrangements for the breakfast, she is very strict. Smiiiile, she's not so bad! Breakfast was just fine, but above all I said, the location is unbeatable.

All major attractions of Madrid are in a short distance from the hotel. Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Museums, Park Retiro.......all that you can visit in the light walk, especially if you go to Madrid in the period when it's not summer. Unfortunately we ran into the Madrid heat, it was very hot we hardly hold out, and yet we managed to see a lot.

Two month after Sarajevo (october), I decided to go to London again :), I  love tihs city,  and like last time I chose hotel next to Victoria station. My dougter and I stayed in Airways hotel Victoria London for three nights and I have only a good words for it. This was a pleasant stay, you know when you feel like you're at home. The friendly reception staff, a discrete staff at breakfast room, clean rooms, all neat, but there's one flaw, no elevator.
We were on the fourth floor and if someone is not sure that could every day make lot of steps, it's better to ask for a room on the lower levels.

Location is excellent, affordable price, and of course don't forget bus number 24 runs in a parllel street about 100 meters from hotel.

Mala Bašta - Sarajevo

Mala Bašta is the name of a restaurant in Sarajevo. For that restaurant I have nothing other to say then good. We had dinner there on the first evening our stay in this beautiful city. I don't want to recount our orders of food and beverages, the pictures will show what's not said, but certainly I can say that we enjoyed every moment we spent there starting from the aperitive, appetizers, dishes, excellent wine Žilavka, to desserts.

To get such a good, positive impression of the restaurant the most important is the excellent staff that works there: one which prepares meals (for prepared meals I have only words of praise, delicious, tasty, just you want more), as well as one that served in the restaurant (whenever we thought we needed anything, the waiter was there).
Highly recommend!

This has been a long hot summer. The only thing I was able to do was to lounge around and enjoy the sun, everything else was surviving the terrible heat. I haven't written anything for a long time, so I would like to start with reviews on restaurants and hotels I was on my last two trips.

I was offered to visit Sarajevo for three days in August and of course I couldn't miss it for anything.

I was situated in the Hotel Europe in the center of the city. I've got only nice words for this hotel, the spacius, clean, tidy rooms and bathrooms, reception staff and staff who look after the cleanliness of the rooms is very good. On the ground floor of the hotel, next to the reception, is a restaurant for breakfast and some other events, shoes shops and ......

Outside of the hotel there's a nice terrace. But the most of all I liked hotel's coffee shop. The real Viennese cafe where they serve true Bosnian coffee and pastries of all kinds, but I'd recommend Tufahija as the original Bosnian sweet specialty. I'll put pictures so you can see for yourself.

Ulixes restaurant - one of the best

 

According to recommendation of our friends who were in this restaurant before, my husband and I, with our other friends :), visited it when we were recently in Porec. I have to say that we spent a wonderful evening in a nice domestic ambience with a very very kind staff and, of course, the food was excellent (mostly see food).

Reading previous reviews I must admit I was a little worried about this hotel. However city center hotel, reservation at the last moment, very good price and the decision was made. 

Hotel, according to the standards that I'm used to, shouldn't have 3 stars, but the location is unbeatable, every major sight is close to the hotel (Parliament, Big Ben, London Eye, Westminster Cathedral, Buckingham Palace...). Hotel is very good connected to the other parts of the city by bus number 24 and the station of the bus is right in front of the hotel.

Truth is that the rooms are really, really small, bathroom too, but everything is neat and clean. Breakfast is solid. The hotel deserves grade 3 of 5, but the its staff is excellent and therefore I give it 4.

Croccantino

Ah I'm lazy! Whole month passed from my return from Budapest and I should write something about this beautiful city but I just can't force myself to start. Well, here're few words in my defense. I'm constantly somewhere, last weekend I was on the peninsula Peljesac (near Dubrovnik), at the same time I'm am preparing a trip to London for Christmas, New Year in Prague ..... So it's not just laziness.
But here's one short review of a nice pastry shop in a small, very beautiful and well-known tourist place Orebic located on the sea side of the Peljesac peninsula.
Like everywhere on the Croatian coast tourist season is over. And so it is in Orebic, peace and quiet. I wanted to eat something sweet, and since everything was closed, I didn't hope to my wish come true.

And then we found opened pastry shop Croccantino.
The choice was not great as it probably would have been in the heart of the summer season, but I still chose a tasty cake that satisfied my desire for sweets.
I must admit I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of full service. So if your trip takes you to Orebic - visit Croccantino.

A few pictures are not enough to conjure up experience of sweet delicacies that are offered at this restaurant. We accidentally discovered it and returned back for more each day, twice a day. Since we practically lived off sweets, this time we didn't try  the famous Hungarian goulash; "sweet sin" OMG who needs goulash.
The service and staff are excellent. Prices are very reasonable.
It was a hot summer weather even though it was October and we were sitting outside, but when I went to the rest room I saw the interior of the cafe, beautiful, clean, neat... really  gentlemanly.

                   I recommend!

Perfect hotel in Buda. This is,'t the first time that I was placed in it. I was here seven years ago and it's equally beautiful and perfect today as it was then. The rooms are exceptional, I had a view of Pest and Fishemrmen's bastion, beautiful. And what to say about neatness and cleanliness, service, stuff..... great. Breakfast is excellent, the staff extremely friendly ... I have no complaints, I am writing this just to persuade you to choose this hotel when you decide to go to Budapest. Perfect!

Nice, pleasant place where you can consume very yummy ice cream. Price of ice cream is very reasonable. Besides ice cream, you can order a banana split, pancakes with ice cream, jam or chocolate, it's your choice, fruit salad with ice cream and other various sweets. Coffee is also good, to be honest I don't know the exact price but I think it was about 10 kunas which is about 1,5 Euro.

In the summer in this candy store there is often a long line of people waiting for a sweet bite. Worth of wait. This pastry shop is located in the historic part of town, within the city wall.

Bar Brasile - Rome

As opposed to previous restaurant, this bar was enjoyable experience. We used to come here every day during our stay in Rome. It's located on Piazza Venezia in front of a large Roman monument Pro Patria. After a long walk, and the summer heat made us very, very tired, we enjoyed a cold beer. A waiter was true Italian, dear, polite and always in a good mood. Super!
Ice cream is good. I recommend!

Nova Caffe - Vatican - Rome

on the right side of this beautiful street there is this awful Nova Caffe

Shame, shame, shame! This is the only meaningful word I can say about this restaurant. We ordered four pizzas, water and two beers.
1. We got water, three beers and four pizzas - first mistake, but ignore everything is OK one beer more or less :) let's go on.
2. Pizza Margharita - I don't know how to describe it, a little baked pastry covered with some cheese and some tomato sauce - poor.
3. This lunch cost us 88 euros, we gave 100 and get 10 back. The waiter kept 2 euro as a tip without our will. We always leave tips but this was inexcusable and rude.

I just wish I took a picture of it but I was so upset at that moment that the photographing had not occurred to me.

Avoid, avoid, avoid....!!!!

From arrival to departure to this hotel I can't find any objections. Everything was more than good, staff, rooms, cleanliness of the room, breakfast .... everything.
Highly recommend it  to everyone. My friends are coming next week here on my recommendation.
The hotel is very close to the main station Termini and to the whole public transport.

Further, the location is ideal for visiting the city, many crucial cultural monuments can be visited on foot from the hotel such as Santa Maria Maggiore, San Pietro in Vincoli, where the famous Michenagelo's Moses staute is, then a little further is Colosseum and Foro Romano... and so on. I am very, very satisfied.






On the roof of the hotel there is a SPA and bar where you can seat and have a drink and enjoy in a beautiful view of the city.
