Rome - part IV

this photo is from wikipedia, this is how it looks like in her beauty

Trevi Fountain - Fontana di Trevi

Fountain in reconstraction
Rome is a city of fountains, there are about 280 but Trevi Fountain is the queen of all the Roman fountains!
It became world famous for the film "La Dolce Vita", when a Swedish actress and very beautiful woman Anita Ekberg jumped into the fountain and called Marcello Mastroianni to join her :).
Fountain was built in the 18th century by order of Pope Clement XII, although  in simpler form at the same place it existed in the 15th century.  The Trevi Fountain is situate at the end of the Aqua Virgo, an aqueduct
constructed in 19 year BC.
The aqueduct brings water all the way from Salone Springs, which are located 21 km  form Rome. Many tourists gather around the fountain for the customs of flipping a coin, which means you'll be back in this beautiful city. Unfortunately, this summer began the reconstruction of the fountain and this time we could not see all its beauty. This was my third visit to Rome, this time I didn't throw a coin, does that mean that I will not come back her?

I doubt it!
